Finds BEFORE My Blog Days!

So I had a shit week. Everything was going well, all on top of my work, looking forward to joining in the new listy thing on Mondays but then....my hard drive dies. Beware those of you with automatic updates as I am not alone-it over loaded hard drive and ended up costing a fortune. I hate Microsoft so much right now. I know hating is not a good word to use but feel its very justified here. So I didn't manage to get much time to go out hunting, I found a few treasures but thought I would also share with you 5 of my best finds before my blogging days.

Vintage 80s Chanel Dress

I was so close to really crapping myself when I saw this dress. It does not fit me, I am far too broad for something so pretty and dainty but tried to photograph all the little features on it! It just feel nice to own one, for now!

30s Navy Crepe Lace Trim Maxi Dress

I don't like using the word Maxi to describe such a nice old piece, it feels too trendy. At the same time what are you supposed to say? Full Length? I don't feel that does this justice either, sounds too stuffy. I love this dress and apart from the tiniest tear on the lace collar its in perfect condition!

Fabric has a nice heaviness to it so drapes very well, a really beautiful fit with all the gathers!

Vintage 40s Stud Smocked Novelty Print Dress

Check out all the stunning details on this beauty! Very unusual little round studs allover bodice, with quirkiest print and really nice original knotted belt...

The wide shaped waistband again fits like only 40s dresses do and these photos do not do it justice!

Vintage 40s 50s? Miami Robes Dress

This piece is a real stunner. I have never got around to repairing the zipper but at some point I will as frozen up and so cant try it on-which is VERY annoying but this one cant be a rush job-its worth much more time invested to try and save current zipper or find a perfect replacement!

Vintage 50s Hawaiian Playsuit

This was and insane bargain and looks unworn, totally mint condition. I wish I could tell you how much these cost but its at the risk of you all hating me and you wont come and visit my blog anymore which would suck.

60s Floral Embroidered Pink Dress

How cute is this! Love the bright psychedelic flower embroidery, very 60s! The perfect party dress I think!

70s Sheepskin Coat

This is my best find in a while and its all mine. I hate the cold so this thick fully lined coat will keep me warm all winter long and will probably be so conditioned to Australian temperatures that will end up wearing it in Summer back home in England.

Vintage 80s Neon Garden Jumper

Just couldn't say no to this because its just super loud and colourful and warm. I like colourful things!

50s Roulette Bag

Okay so its a little bit tatty, but its so darn cool. It has little pearl counters and rhinestone studs as counters and the fabric looks quite old-must be 40s or 50s. I always appreciate if anyone else knowledge about these things or can correct my dating skills!

Vintage 70s Green Leather Bag

Well its just so disco, I love bright green too! If I happen to go to a 70s disco BBQ I can also take these along....

Vintage 1976 Meat Tenderiser and Seasoner Set

Not sure how much meat will be left after giving it pound with this one but they look cool don't they!

Old Sewing Needles

I say needles like I have more than one in there, I don't-which is a bummer but the packet is still aesthetically pleasing.
And next the reason why I don't like to model clothes over winter??

Vintage 80s Vivian Chan Shaw Jumper

Its just so warm and I cant take it off! I love oversized jumpers, especially in cold weather!

Vintage Easter Bunny and the usual Dresses!

So big apology for not visiting everyones blogs last week, I love doing it just like I love reading my favourite magazine and always like to save a bit of time aside, make myself a nice drink or snack and fully enjoy the process. However half the staff walked out on the day job, its been very unpleasant at work and have gone from 2 days to 5 at the moment, not to mention Easter being one of the busy ebay times for me so in work eat sleep mode.

Looking forward to life getting less hectic, but not looking forward to being overlooked at work again, despite asking for more hours for 2 years they have already hired more staff rather than give me hours! If anyone wants to tell them that I rock and give great reptile talks you can have something free from the shop!!!

Hand Made Felt Bunny

This remind you of anything mum? I cried my eyes out for ages on a holiday to Switzerland when I was little because I lost a little hand made jointed felt bunny my mum had got from her dad who made it. This one is not quite as special as that one but reminds me of it. Everytime I see something like this I grab it and get so excited people always turn round and say just have it, but had to give them a bit of change. Perfect timing for Easter!

Cutest little tiny (fits in palm) hand held mirror with floral carving. I have a fixation with 30s-70s alpine vintage stuff so goes right in with my collection perfectly!

80s Party Dresses: Geoff Bade Rainbow Floral & Glitter Strapless

I love these 2 dresses, especially the colourful Geoff Bade one, so 80s! But the unlabelled one is just such a great cut with a super dramatic skirt!

40s 50s? Farmers Long Slinky Dress & 90s Laura Ashley Wool Bow Mini

A classy dress from Farmers (the Original Myer I think) just needs an iron to bring it too life and a chic little wool mini dress from Laura Ashley perfect for Winter!

Prue Acton Silver Pleated Dress and 60s Bright Orange Plaid Coat

Adding to my Prue Acton collection this fun little 80s number which is bright silver with sequin shoulders but the stunning bright plaid wool coats is one of my top finds of the week!

Fantastic kiddy inspired jumpers.

Bohemian leather. The jacket is fantastic-vivid orangy patched lining-all real fleece, including lined hood with big fox fur trim. Hand made and bought from a roadside stall in Romania. And a woodstock era leather cut out cape!

Gorgeous double circle skirt! wrap skirt that is so long and pleated there is just a ton of fabric to it, so dramatic, I think its so fun to wear!

All my luck is in VINTAGE!

Stunning and immaculate MINK Cream Cape by Hudson Bay Co 1960s? The mink is just so amazingly soft-It makes me feel like a million dollars and also that I need to be in New York at Christmas time.


This cost me $2o, I could get a posh burger and a coffee at lunch for the same price-crazy.

I am not one too complain about this, but I have never had any good luck in my life, its a constant 2 steps forward and 1.9 back, and the only things I have ever got are through a lot of hard work. However since my serious op shopping began only aboout 18 months ago, I have found where all that luck has been hiding.

I dont believe its any sort of talent, the things I find are so clearly amazing, I cant possibly believe they go unnoticed for very long I seriously just think I am extreamly lucky in this area.

I am always having a new favourite item in my collection due too this, but today I hit the jackpot. Of course like any good collector I would give my right arm for an original Chanel and would give up a leg too for a Fortuny piece-true icons of fashion-but these names depended on this one:

Hudson Bay are one of the oldest companies in the world. They basically started modern trade with the East India Company and set up business on the 2ndof May 1670. The history of them is just endless, I could find little info on labels other than a similar one dated to the 60s, but to own something from such a historic company makes me so excited!

I cannot describe how silky soft the mink is, and such a stunning colour, none of the usual holes and stains of age on the lining, it looks unworn, the only blemish was about an inch long what looks like mud-I am very confident it can be washed off as just on the tips and does not look stained! The lining itself is embossed with little clovers of different sizes, and has inside and outside pockets, all finished to perfection. I am in love :)
