Vintage Australian Designer Sale!

So this is one of the reasons I have been very busy! Getting all my Christmas items ready to list on ebay: http://stores.ebay.com.au/jetaimevintage. As I plan on heading home pretty soon I am selling my collection of Australian vintage from all the top designers of the decades, have some VERY special items and if you know anyone interested please spread the word. I am hoping to use these funds to set up my store back home so hence parting with some of my top pieces.

I have also been working on my new little veggie and herb garden in the nice weather so will share some picture next week!

Norma Tullo 1960s Wool Dress

This dress is such a classic, and Tullo dresses are super collectible. I think this is a pretty early piece and so nicely made!

House of Youth Silk? 50s 60s Swing Coat

House of Youth are the company that exclusively produced the Christian Dior ready to wear line from 1952. I am sure you can see the influence in this piece. I am sure it is woven silk, such amazing fabric and looks unworn. Buttons are huge and the silk is lined separate to the coat lining. You can see the high end of work that Christian Dior would have been happy with! Hens teeth is the word to describe this one and would look perfectly at home in Paris during the Spring.

Studibaker Hawk Gold 80s Cocktail Mini Dress

An Australian legend of the 80s! Only the coolest chicks rocked these prom dresses to their formals. I LOVE the mini dresses with the puffy skirts, been after one for ages but you cant be picky in this business you get what comes to you, and this has the most amazing print and shape to the bust its lack of puffiness can be forgiven.

Prue Acton 60s Raw Silk Embroidered Dress

The fabric on this is fantastic, saw the same dress for sale at nearly $300 a while ago! The embroidery collar makes it a real statement piece and perfect for festivals provided you posses a VIP pass!

Prue Acton 80s Silk Taffeta Plaid Party Dress

Another fab offering from the legendary Prue.

Chong & Merkel 80s Vamp Cocktail Dress

Now this one is terribly underground, referred to in their day as 'fringe' designers, Rose Chong and Karen Merkel are still in the fashion business today but a lot more reserved than in their youth! They catered for the music and entertainment industry, producing designs for many productions and bands, I'm sure the odd red carpet too. This would look right at home in any of the above, amazing shaping to flatter curves, a pretty rare find!

1950s Peach Lace Circle Rockabilly Swing Dress

A few of my regular offerings to boost up the Christmas stock too, this fab 50s dress with full skirt and....

Diane Freis 80s Pussy Bow Ruffle Dress

So colourful and pretty, you have to love a pussy bow!!

Am uploading these amazing gthings tomorrow along with a heap more names over the next couple of weeks: Ken Done, Farmers, George Gross, Geoff Bade, Harry Who, and more! Check out my store http://stores.ebay.com.au/jetaimevintage to see more!

I am also off to the markets early on Sunday to hunt for something groovy for sacramento who is my partner on the groovy Christmas swap organised by Lakota over at the brilliant Faith Hope and Charity Shopping blog! Fingers crossed!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed my little selection of Australian goodies.

Another Addition to Australian Vintage Collection!

This week have been getting more and more excited about my trip back home. Its only 3 weeks away and am already starting to pack my bag. I have all my little trips to Paris with mum and Amsterdam with my mates booked and honestly don't think I have ever done anything so exciting in my life which is weird as I am going home to do what I always used to do. There is something weird about moving across to the other side of the world. It sounds terribly 'cliche' but you do start to know yourself more. However much I love the nice weather and the beaches, I start to know what is important to me, much of which is back home. I have been trying to cut back a little due to holiday but my tactic of offering half of what ever the price was today seemed to pay off for once so could still pick up a few fantastic goodies.

Vintage 80s PRUE ACTON Pure Silk Crochet Dress

This is just gorgeous dress by the legendary Prue Acton. Very pale pink silk with crochet panels and matching belt. I have got so many amazing Australian vintage pieces I was thinking of selling at the same time before I move back-not sure how to go about this one so any ideas appreciated, I am so bad at marketing.

60s Dollyrockers by Sambo Maxi & Cream Velvet Suit

I am not sure if the suit is very me, I quite like the jacket but the velvet is so amazingly soft and its very nicely tailored. Comes with matching skinny trousers that are a little too tiny for my 'well built' (chunky) legs which is a shame else may have tried to jazz it up a little. This Dollyrockers dress was one of my top finds of the day though!

40s Tweed Wool Wasp Waist Blazer

I like this, may be a bit 'clay pigeon shooting' but I like how English it makes me feel. Love the tailoring too with flare at the back and nice finishing to buttons.

80s Purple Plaid Mini Dress

Getting to the point where if I twist too much I put my back out so its a pain taking these back photos but somethings have such nice little details I have to try and do them justice! I like it when they use patterned fabrics like checks and stripes and have them running in different directions.

80s Sun Dress and Gym Bag

Having a Miami circa 1988 moment, you either love it or hate it, and if you love it (and not just for a themed party) chances are you were either not born or too young to remember the actual decade.

70s Mexican Felt Embroidered Poncho Cape

Another addition to my Wardrobe-Not far off being able to outfit everyone for my own 'Ugly Betty Party'. I should have cropped this more though, the edge of the camera lens looks like a really creepy set of teeth. Whoops.

Vintage Easter Bunny and the usual Dresses!

So big apology for not visiting everyones blogs last week, I love doing it just like I love reading my favourite magazine and always like to save a bit of time aside, make myself a nice drink or snack and fully enjoy the process. However half the staff walked out on the day job, its been very unpleasant at work and have gone from 2 days to 5 at the moment, not to mention Easter being one of the busy ebay times for me so in work eat sleep mode.

Looking forward to life getting less hectic, but not looking forward to being overlooked at work again, despite asking for more hours for 2 years they have already hired more staff rather than give me hours! If anyone wants to tell them that I rock and give great reptile talks you can have something free from the shop!!!

Hand Made Felt Bunny

This remind you of anything mum? I cried my eyes out for ages on a holiday to Switzerland when I was little because I lost a little hand made jointed felt bunny my mum had got from her dad who made it. This one is not quite as special as that one but reminds me of it. Everytime I see something like this I grab it and get so excited people always turn round and say just have it, but had to give them a bit of change. Perfect timing for Easter!

Cute Floral Wood Carved Beveled Mirror

Cutest little tiny (fits in palm) hand held mirror with floral carving. I have a fixation with 30s-70s alpine vintage stuff so goes right in with my collection perfectly!

80s Party Dresses: Geoff Bade Rainbow Floral & Glitter Strapless

I love these 2 dresses, especially the colourful Geoff Bade one, so 80s! But the unlabelled one is just such a great cut with a super dramatic skirt!

40s 50s? Farmers Long Slinky Dress & 90s Laura Ashley Wool Bow Mini

A classy dress from Farmers (the Original Myer I think) just needs an iron to bring it too life and a chic little wool mini dress from Laura Ashley perfect for Winter!

Prue Acton Silver Pleated Dress and 60s Bright Orange Plaid Coat

Adding to my Prue Acton collection this fun little 80s number which is bright silver with sequin shoulders but the stunning bright plaid wool coats is one of my top finds of the week!

Thanks again for stopping by and always LOVE your comments, and hopefully have some free time this week to check everyones finds, cant wait for a day off!
In the mean time check them out yourself at Sophies site and join in the fun!

Saturday op shop finds...

Lots of great goodies this week at bargain prices! Seems like schoolies are too hungover to beat me getting up early for the good finds... my favourite this week is my pair of cat salt and pepper shakers for 20cents for the pair and my cookie cutters for 50cents!
A cute little Silver pin.....
...real croc skin vintage purse with vanity case section-a little battered but was only $2.

I love this bag, its a bit cheesy but thats very me. I like nice colourful things and these flowers are great-bag in mint condition too!

GORGEOUS 60s floral butterfly blazer! This was such a find, only $3 and almost perfect.Such a nice cut and beautiful print!
I seem to be accidently collecting Prue Acton dresses and this is my most recent one-its so groovy! Covered in a rainbow mexican print. Also the most softest cotton dress ever! No wonder-apparently made of Mettlers Swiss thouroughbred cotton fabric-since 1745, it honestly feels like velvet.

Another groovy 70s Geoff Bade number and a 1950s Hale of Hawaii dress in a print ready for Summer!
Hope you all had a fantastic week-had some brilliant weather up here in Byron so have been enjoying the outdoors and feeling very un Christmasy-still cant get used to Summer being Christmas! Thanks so much for stopping by and will be drawing for the Christmas $75 give away so check back during the week.

Success in the rain...

So I had a pretty bad week-really ill and not eating at all, still working, and then have to take my husband to hospital due to a sore neck at midnight, possibly to avoid the first meal he had promised to cook me in 5 years, either way was not very impressed so have been in a pretty bad mood and hiding away at home from the non stop rain and people seeing my zombie like face. I thankfully had some help this week with my finds, with one good garage sale, the wonder of the internet to bring goodies straight to my door and a little help from my mum who got these first 2 fantastic bargains from Edina Ronay.
Both of these look unworn and jacket still has pockets stitched up. Mint condition! Rose silk dress is so pretty and perfectly finished with big fabric covered buttons running up the back of the dress and little puffy sleeves!
I think my mum out did me here for sure, she got these at such a good price and I love them so much I cant part with them!
Next up a very groovy 70s leopard and tiger print corset dress..
I love the old label and the top is so well structured with boning and poppers hidden between the buttons to keep it all in place!

Found this fun little summer dress and spotted the print a mile away-I think its so colourful and fun, little bit big for me but good for beach days.

My ebay purchase of the week-gorgeous Prue Acton silk acetate party dress!

..and last of all a very chic little number from bruce oldfield that I got last week but forgot to photo...

Thanks again everyone for dropping by and thanks for your kind messages. Again thanks to Sophie for her link page and as soon as I understand how to link her page in this blog I will do so!

Vintage PRUE ACTON 60s 70s Rainbow Ribbon Retro Dress

This one is so great $30 from a garage sale, and a good investment I think. Original Prue Acton with late 60s or early 70s label. The photo is so bad-sorry about that-I am saving up for a better camera but my tv just went so in time... anyway, the trim is made of ribbon and its navy with royal blue, green, orange and red. So iconic, I just love this dress!
